Welcome to the United Kingdom Virtual TT

We are back with a fundraiser for the RNLI with a one-off event in November 2021 running from the 13th to the 21st.

Haywood Sports presents the United Kingdom Virtual TT RNLI Fundraiser. A Virtual Time Trial where you pit yourself against the clock, challenge your friends and find out where you stand against other paddlers, all whilst raising funds for the charity that saves lives at sea.

Powered by Paddle Logger, the worlds leading paddle sport activity tracker, the United Kingdom Virtual TT s brings you a unique challenge where you get to see your times and progress over a series of events over the same distances. Anyone can enter no matter how long you have been paddling or what craft you use. SUP, Prone boards, kayaks and canoes are all welcome to enter on any body of water.

So why should you take part?

We want you to support of our our greatest institutions with our one-off fundraiser all whilst giving you a goal during the winter. Set your time and then have something to aim for love rteh winter months as you progress, keeping you motivated and paddling.

How much does it cost to enter?

There are various ticket options, each with a different price which is the amount of money you would lioek to donate to the RNLI. All you have to do is follow the event rules on our website, complete and submit your time within each events window.

How much of my entry fee will be donanted?

100% of your entry fee will be donated to the RNLI.

What about the distances?

The UK Virtual TT has options of 2km, 5km or 10km distance. You can choose which distance you want to complete, or for those looking for an extra challenge, you are also welcome to complete each distance.

How does the event work during COVID restrictions?

Like everyone, we are acutely aware of the challenges the pandemic has brought on, and it is everyone's responsibility to ensure we as a community are not making the situation worse before it gets better.

Therefore please only participate if you are able to do so safely, following the latest guidelines issued by the Government where you are.

What the RNLI?

The RNLI continues to rely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income. 93% of their total income comes from donations and support like ours, which in 2019 helped launch 8,941 lifeboat rescues, aid over 29,000 beachgoers and respond to 17,356 incidents. It cost £181.5M to run the RNLI lifesaving service in 2019, which is no small amount.

The RNLI is a registered charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and, in a normal year, more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.

Take the challenge and become a #UKVirtualTTfinisher.

Event Rules

  • Be Safe - It's yourself against the clock but please wear an appropriate leash and make sure someone knows you're out on the water. We recommend using the PaddleLIVE® feature within the Paddle Logger iOS app so friends and family know you are safe and can track your progress - details here.

  • Be Fair - You can paddle on rivers, lakes, canals or the sea, remember to be fair to others however with the conditions you choose. We ask you to not use the tides, river flow or wind to your advantage and be honest with your times.

  • Own Risk - Remember you are taking part at your own risk - paddle in conditions that are safe and you feel comfortable in. Follow the appropriate guidelines for your area and water and make sure someone knows you are on the water.

  • Start & Finish - To make it as fair as possible, you must start and finish in the same spot.

  • Standing Start - You must also start from a standstill on all your attempts, no rolling starts.

  • No Drafting - This is an individual Time Trial - do paddle it with friends but no drafting each other or boat wash to gain an advantage.

  • Upload Results - Submit your best time on the haywoodsports.com website before the event closes on the submission page here. Times outside of the event window will not be counted - you must also complete your Time Trial within the dates of the event.
